The following tutorial will show you how to make use of the GroupMetrics integration that is
available in GroupMail and will make it easier for you to add tracking and opt-in/out forms to your Email with the simple
click of a button.
1. Open GroupMail and click on the GroupMetrics Button available on the GroupMail interface.

If this button is not available to you then you may need to upgrade to a later release of GroupMail
or use the tool bar to access the web services.
Click on Tools, Web Services, GroupMetrics.

2. You will now see the Web Services option where you can tick the box to Enable GroupMetrics
support in GroupMail.

Enter in your GroupMetrics login Details and click OK.
You have now added integration for GroupMetrics into your GroupMail program.

How to insert a Tracked link or Open Rate |
Create or import your HTML message to GroupMail.
In the Message Editor Screen, click the small GroupMetrics icon and choose "Insert a Tracked Link".

You will now see the Tracking Manager box as below.

To insert the Open Rate tracking, select the relevant campaign or create a new one.
Then click on "Open Rate Counter" from the Links section, or create a new Open Rate tracking
counter.
If you wish to have the recipients Email address returned for who opened your Email then select !
*EMAIL*! From the "Embed" option. !*EMAIL*! Is the merge field that GroupMail uses as the default Email field in the
GroupMail Group.
Click "Insert".
You will then see a piece of code text similar to that in the picture below in your Email message.
This code is visible for your information and for that of GroupMail and will not be seen by your recipients when you send
your message. The Open Rate tracking can be placed anywhere within your message.

If you wish to insert a Tracked Link, then click on the relevant part of your message where you wild
like the link to be.
In the Message Editor Screen, click the small GroupMetrics icon and choose "Insert a Tracked Link".

Using the same GroupMetrics Campaign, choose the relevant link you wish to track from the "Links:"
section, or create a new link to track.

If you wish to have the recipients Email address returned for who opened your Email then select !
*EMAIL*! From the "Embed" option.
Under the "Descriptive Link Text" section, enter a descriptive name for your link so your recipients
will know what they are clicking. This may be something like "Click Here" or "Visit My Home Page" etc...
Click "Insert".
You have now inserted a Tracked Link into your message. You can see in the picture below that my
recipients will see the text of "Click Here to visit my Home Page".

If you were to click on "View", "Rich Text (HTML) Source", you would see the tracking code behind
it.
