You can personalize your messages using the GroupMail Merge features. After deciding what fields to include you can use the GroupMail Merge scripts to ensure that the output is consistent and formatted properly.

Merge Fields |
You can customize your email by merging fields of information that are stored in groups with your message.
To merge fields, follow these steps:
1. Create a new message, or open a draft message.
2. Position the mouse cursor in the message where you want the field information to appear.

3. From the Message Editior Insert menu, click Merge Fields.

4. From the insert Recipient Merge Fields window, select the field or fields, you want to enter.

5. Click Preview at the bottom of the Screen.

6. Preview your message to ensure the email appears as you want it.

Merge Scripts |
Use the following Group Mail Merge Scripts to ensure the message output appears and behaves as you specify.

Conditionally compare two fields and output a result
1. Create a new message, or open a draft message, and position the cursor where you want the output to appear.
2. Click Insert > Merge Scripts > If Then Else [Tab]

3. Select a field for comparison.

4. Select the relationship between that field and another field or specific text. Relationships include Equal To, Less Than, Greater Than, Less Than or Equal To, and Greater Than or Equal To.

5. Select the appropriate output (Then and Else) and click insert. Output may be a field or alphanumberic text.

6. Preview your message to ensure the email appears as you want it to. (Figure 5)

7. If necessary, make changes and preview again. You can repeat this step as often as necessary.

8. Close the window when you are done.

Encode the contents of a field so it is safe to use in a URL (Web or Email Link)
1. Click Insert > Merge Scripts > URL Encode [Tab]

2. Select the field containing the URL Address and click Insert
3. Close the window when you are done

Capitalize (Figure 6) |

This will capitalize the first letter of the field which you select.
1. Click Insert > Merge Scripts > Capitalize [Tab]

2. Select the field containing the text to capitalize and click insert. Repeat as necessary.
3. Preview the message to ensure proper capitalization.
4. Close the window when you are done.

2. Select the field containing the number to format and select the type of formatting
3. Preview the message to ensure proper formatting
4. Click Insert, and close the window when you are done

Make the contents of any field a Hypertext A HREF link (works in Rich Text (HTML) Messages Only)
1. Click Insert > Merge Scripts > Link Text [Tab]

2. Select the field which you want to create as an Hyperlink
3. Then select what you want that to link to (Either a Web Address or Email Address)
4. Preview the message to ensure proper formatting
5. Click Insert, and close the window when you are done
