Overview |

With this example we are going to go through the basic elements of using the Merge Feature.

Step 1: Getting Started |
Merge allows you to merge (combine) groups together, all duplicates are ignored.
To open the Merge Feature, go to Home, Groups then select Merge or Purge. The following Screen will appear.

Click Next to Proceed.

Please note that you can only Merge two Groups together at once, you can choose the Source Group and Destination Group from the drop
down list of Groups available.
Also you have the option to replace the recipient details if they already exist in the Destination Group with the details from the Source Group.
To do this please check on the option above 'Replace the Recipient details when they already exist in the destination group'.
For example in the Source Group if the recipient had Email, First Name and Last Name and in the Destination Group only had Email, it would
also add the First and Last Name details in for the recipient.
Click Next to Proceed.

If the Source and Destination Groups have different fields, then we need to map these fields, to let it know the correct fields to merge the data
into.
Note: If both Groups have the same structure this step is skipped.

To Merge your two Groups together press the Merge Button, to go back to the previous screen simply press Previous.

Step 4: Merge Complete and Results displayed |

Once complete it will report the Number of records processed, Added, Duplicates and Illegal.
To Review the Log file, simply click Yes. The results of the Merge are then available in this Text File for review.
